Culminating Brilliance: Celebrating the Pilot Cohort of the Transcendent Leader Institute
On Friday, May 8th, Think Transcend proudly hosted Culminating Brilliance – a powerful and inspiring celebration marking the completion of our Pilot Transcendent Leader Institute. More than a culminating event, the day served as a reflection of what is possible when leaders are given the space to grow deeply, lead authentically, and remain anchored in the success of every single student.
Over the course of the 10-month Institute, education leaders from across California engaged in a transformative leadership journey designed to strengthen both the inner and outer work of leadership. Through immersive learning experiences, coaching, reflection, collaboration, and practical application, participants explored what it means to lead with vision, courage, humanity, and purpose.

At Culminating Brilliance, participants shared heartfelt personal stories and capstone presentations highlighting the profound impact the Institute has had on their leadership. Their reflections demonstrated not only shifts in mindset and practice, but also impacts within their districts, schools, and communities. Leaders spoke about building stronger cultures of trust, creating more student-centered systems, deepening community engagement, and leading with greater clarity and intentionality during challenging times.
The event brought together an incredible community of supporters and partners who believe in the importance of developing transcendent leaders in education. We were honored to welcome members of the Think Education Board, educational affinity group leaders including California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA), California Association of Asian & Pasifika Leaders in Education (CAAPLE), and California Association of Latino Superintendents and Administrators (CALSA), along with representatives from partner organizations and educational systems across the state.
The evening was filled with celebration, connection, vulnerability, and hope. It reinforced among our leaders and partners a shared belief that leadership development must extend beyond technical skill and strategic planning – it must also nurture the soul, identity, resilience, and purpose of leaders who are shaping the futures of students and communities.
As we reflect on this milestone moment, we are deeply grateful to our inaugural pilot cohort for their willingness to lead boldly and authentically. Their brilliance, commitment, and transformational work continue to inspire us and affirm the mission of Think Transcend.
Culminating Brilliance was not simply the end of a pilot program. It was the beginning of a growing movement of transcendent leaders dedicated to reimaging educational leadership in service of every child.
