Dr. Francisco Escobedo

Vice President

Dr. Francisco Escobedo spent a decade as Superintendent of Chula Vista Elementary School District, where he turned a 29,000-student district into a nationally recognized model, including designation as a California Positive Outlier by the Learning Policy Institute and the state’s Exemplary District of the Year. His approach, rooted in dual-language education and community-centered leadership, reflects a career of over 30 years in California schools. He now serves as Executive Director of the National Center for Urban School Transformation and as a member of the California State Board of Education.

Dr. Judy White

Vice President

Dr. Judy White built a 40-year career in California public education, rising from classroom teacher to superintendent across some of the state’s most complex districts. As the first woman and first Black superintendent of Riverside County schools, she led the district to a 90% graduation rate, a record high for any California county of its size. She also served as Superintendent of Moreno Valley Unified, where both districts earned national recognition for student achievement and innovation.

Dr. Paul Gothold

Founder and President

Dr. Paul Gothold started his career teaching adjudicated youth with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and that foundation has shaped more than 30 years of public education leadership. As Superintendent of Lynwood Unified, he raised graduation rates from 58% to 90% and led the district to be named the College Board’s National AP District of the Year. He went on to serve as San Diego County Superintendent for seven years, where he built SDCOE into a statewide leader in equity, bilingual education, and student impact, and created a temporary school that served more than 3,200 unaccompanied migrant youth during the pandemic. He now leads Think Transcend as President.
